Review of Equilibrium (2002) by Daniel A — 21 May 2011
What begins a silly sci-fi thriller actually turns out rather well. Though Kurt Wimmer's direction lacks finesse, and borrows heavily from the likes of The Matrix, Equilibrium is in fact a well-executed actioner, propelled forward by Christian Bale's stoic badass-ness, and an amusingly barmy premise of a world where human emotion is banned for fear of sparking off World War IV.
It's nothing amazing, but Equilibrium will provide a short-lived buzz as you watch.
