Review of End of Days (1999) by Dan J — 05 Dec 2008
Gabriel Byrne and the side of Robin Tunney's boob aside, End of Days was a pretty sorry movie trying to cash in on the then current Millennium fad. Instead of a Backstreet Boys album it was Satan bringing about the Rapture.
Same thing if you ask me, but I digress. If this movie was made in the 70s and had Charlton Heston playing the lead (thing Omega Man or Soylent Green) it probably would be a sweet movie even if only for nostalgic value.
But since it's Arnold Schwarzenegger instead of Ol' Chuck and End of Days hasn't... fermented enough yet it's still crap. The premise is pretty much The Omen and no new ground is broken with this movie.
Your best bet for optimum enjoyment is catching it at 1:30 in the morning when you're too tired to change the channel.
