Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Larry T — 11 Aug 2008
One of the few documentaries I enjoy, mostly because the point-of-view is clear.
Herzog isn't out to explore the beauty of the Antarctic but instead the weirdness of it, as well as the qualities in people it both exposes and brings to the pole in the first place.
I could have done with the minor and hamfisted "Humans are going to get it from Mother Nature" spiel, but oter than that it was all cinematography and an excellent sample at that.
