Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Michael M — 02 Feb 2009
Great photography and a documentary filled with images that you will most definitely remember. You meet enough people and hear enough stories to get a very good sense of what it would be like to live among them.
It's a crazy, harsh place that seems to attract similar people. Everyone there is at the end of the world for reasons that are as different as they are similar. I kind of wish Herzog would've tied everything together at the end, but I suppose you can do that for yourself.
Too many lose ends and general disorganization prevent this from being a great documentary, but it's definitely worth checking out.
