Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Mirabella 1 — 01 Feb 2010
Another exemplary foray into the documentary world, all from the unique perspective of this truly unique director.
I could go on endlessly about his recurrent themes of the essential 'alone-ness' of the human condition....he doesn't need to go all the way to Antarctica to get his point across(!).
OK....so, we are all doomed.....it's official.
I only wish that he had not have told us about the insane kamikaze penguins. I was REALLY upset & shocked to hear of this (& see it).....I could not stop crying for the rest of the night & it still haunts me from time to time.
