Review of Emperor (2012) by Grady H — 10 Nov 2013

This movie had an honest chance to be great, there was so much history at work here, a chance to tell the story of what happened in Japan after the U.S. dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, ending World War II.

But it fumbles the ball greatly by getting bogged down by a needless side love story, that only slows down the narrative it's trying to tell. It's suppose to be a story about the investigation into whether are nation should have prosecuted the Japan Emperor for war crimes, but it does a clumsy job getting there.
