Review of Emperor (2012) by David W — 06 Oct 2014
Talk about your horrible movies. I can totally see this being presented in US classrooms to be passed off as revisionist history. This "film" conveniently ignores the fact that Hirohito DID have direct roles in the war, including directly authorizing war crimes. This entire plot has been warped as if there was no direct conspiracy initiated to collaborate a fictional story to save Hirohito from the hangman's noose. An absolute joke. The eyes start to roll at the very start with the claim that nuclear weapons had anything to do with it (hint: August Storm had a lot more of a role in that decision).
So sure, go ahead, show this tripe in US schools I guess. Nothing beats good old propaganda to ignore reality.
