Review of Elle (2016) by Agatha T — 06 Feb 2017
Elle is an enthralling french film that is very well directed with a unique and interesting plot. It is not as graphic as some reviewers claim. Even though the movie is about a sensitive subject, the rape and sex scenes are far from being too uncomfortable to watch.
It is more suspenseful than graphic. The main character reacts differently than the average person would expect to see in a person who had just been attacked. However, you discover things about her past as the story progresses that would explain this behavior and everything makes more sense.
If you enjoy foreign movies, thrillers, and don't mind subtitles then you will enjoy this movie.
