Review of Elf (2003) by Brendan N — 19 Feb 2018
Full of good natured fun this is how christmas movies should be made. Will Ferrell is hilarious in the lead and makes a solid transformation from bit player to centre stage. The film will forever play to the young crowd, Ferrell's style of humour is very over the top and childish.
The film has a heart and that saves the film from growing tiresome, it never outstays its welcome. Favreau knows comedic timing and is transitioning into a great filmmaker, most of his films have been critically lauded as opposed to other actors who make the transition.
This is a Christmas film that works well and will stay connected to the audiences it seeks to find. 25/12/2017.
