Review of Elf (2003) by Sparky M — 29 Mar 2018
When a baby crawls into Santa's (Ed Asner) sack and ends up in the North Pole, he is renamed Buddy (Will Ferrell) and grows up amoung the elves. When he learns about his real father (James Caan), Buddy sets off for New York City to try and get him off the naughty list with his innocence and Christmas spirit..
Although Elf doesn't offer much surprises, Will Ferrell's star-making comic performance, the impressive use of Stop-Motion and forced perspective in the Rankin-Bass inspired North Pole scenes and the overall good-natured feel of this film, gives this modern holiday classic worth putting on the Nice List every year.
