Get ready to experience some angst while watching this movie about adolescent angst. Elsie Fisher delivers a solid performance and you will feel like you are reliving the akwardness and emotion of that god-awful time all over again.
Her dad, played by Josh Hamilton, is equally convincing as an akward dad doing his best to navigate through the ups and downs and do his best to do minimal damage during what we all know as an inconsolible period.
There was one point in the movie where I realized there was not going to be a neat and tidy ending because, well, it's 8th grade and you don't come out shining. You just get through it.
