Review of Edmond (2006) by Jake B — 22 Jan 2008
Interesting idea for a movie. Almost a how-to for how not to have a mid life crisis! None of the characters in this are especially likeable, but it sure does keep you enthralled and give you a few things to think about.
Julia Stiles is great in this, but kind of unhinged, as is William H Macy. The ending is probably the weakest bit as it did start to lose something by then, and I still can't figure out if it was a happy ending or not! (Well, as happy as it was going to get for Edmond, anyhow, in the circumstances), but it only runs for about 75 minutes anyhow, so it is fairly short and the first half of it is very good, although anyone who is offended by a bit of bad language and violence should probably avoid it.
