Review of Eddie and the Cruisers (1983) by Amy Lynne — 26 May 2008
This movie would have been more fun to watch if I hadn't read all the reviews and summary on the DVD, with all the spoilers.
Enough said if the plot summary simply stated that a band member flashes back on the glory days of a 60's band that were on the brink of releasing a second album, until the singer died. This band member and the others just cant shake the idea that their singer is dead, though.
It was a well made movie, although it seemed slow at parts. The acting and music were good (I saw it initially because of the "darkside" song on the radio all the time.) I agree with the criticisms directed toward it, but I don't know if the average person would have noticed unless pointed out.
As for the PG rating, there was a little language and some mild adult drama.
