Definitely a hidden gem in Tim Burton's filmography. Johnny Depp gives a memorable performance as the title character, depicted as a misunderstood outsider/ underdog who never gives up on his dreams. Martin Landou gives a very memorable performance as the faded star Beila Lagousi.
I don't know how accurate the movie is, but makes an interesting story throughout.
