Review of Eat Drink Man Woman (1994) by Beccy W — 05 Dec 2007
If you like Ingmar Bergman's Through A Glass Darkly (and if not, what's wrong with you!?), you'll love this more contemporary take in a Chinese (well, Taiwanese) milieu as set by virtuoso director Ang Lee.
The story of how the three daughters of a famous chef cross over the threshold of adulthood. A beautiful story. If Mozart were still with us, he'd make an opera based upon it, and that shit'd knock your balls clear to your chin.
I cried like a baby at the end. Come to me, ladies: I need comfortings.
