Review of Easy Rider (1969) by Nathan H — 05 Oct 2013
This movie has some great music, and some impressive views of the United States, but other than that it has little else to offer. The plot is hap hazard with only a very tenuous thread connecting it all.
Most of the scenes involve stoners philosophying. Of course the scenes where they smoke weed is better than the scene where they drop acid. It was so annoying I almost stopped watching. The ending is very random and out of the blue.
Perhaps this was done to create some type of emotional impact, but it was far too abrupt to carry any weight. I think the most interesting thing about the movie is that it is one of the few films in which Jack Nicholson plays a character other than a version of "Jack Nicholson.
