Review of Earthquake (1974) by Fred C — 29 Nov 2008
Ava Gardner, Lorne Greene, Charlton Heston, Walter Matthau, and George Kennedy, Richard Roundtree after he had been in "Shaft." By today's standards, getting that kind of star power in one movie would run into the half-billion dollar range. They even manage to sneak in a scene in a theater that's showing a Clint Eastwood movie, so you even get a second or two of Clint.
This one is so good they made attractions based on it at Universal Studios theme parks on both coasts. Watch it and enjoy. The best part is the elevator crash (after everyone crammed into an elevator to escape the earthquake; GENIUS) when the fake blood splashed on the camera lens and the scene froze for a moment.
