Review of Earthquake (1974) by Christian M — 26 Mar 2009
An excellent disaster film is usually quite hard to come by, but during the early 1970's they were all over the place. This particular one is slightly more violent than the others released around the same time and so gets a little extra recognition for that fact.
Falling glass, broken elevators and a kid taking an extreme header are just some of the great moments to watch for. On the bizarre side, watch for Ava Gardner as Lorne Greene's daughter, which is a little odd considering they are the same age.
This aside, the earthquake itself is a great effect and the sensurround certainly sounds great.
