Review of Dust Devil (1992) by Ryan M — 09 Jun 2007
Very creepy movie by Richard Stanley, who made a really good documentary called "The Secret Glory" about the Nazi search for the Holy Grail. Anyway, "Dust Devil" reminds me of a question I had of the Spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood. What if he represented some kind of demonic force? The is shot in South Africa and it's all about eerie atmosphere rather than violence. The dust devil in question is a wanderer choosing victims as he hitchhikes. This movie even includes "Ramblin' Man.
By Hank Williams on the soundtrack. Which totally goes because I always felt a dark quality to that song. I highly recommend this film.
