Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Helen J — 22 Jul 2017
This film provided such an emotional and realistic depiction of The Battle of Dunkirk that it left me complete speechless and in shock. I was left in tears after this film ended because it truly gave a soldier's perspective of the war which left me processing everything.
There was an incredible limit on the amount of dialogue used in this film, but it actually added an emotional element that truly captivated me. The entire cast was outstanding, with Fionn Whitehead and Harry Styles putting on a superb performance.
Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer were purely brilliant with every single scene that had my heart pumping fast from start to finish. Dunkirk is not a film you watch for entertainment purposes as a popcorn flick.
You really need to watch this film in IMAX in order to fully immerse yourself into the entire experience that will surely take your breath away. Dunkirk is a film that should be treated with a tremendous amount of respect, and it's also a film that we should all reflect on.
Dunkirk is a brilliant masterpiece that will regarded as one of the greatest films of our time, which shall be respected with a great amount of honor.
