Review of Dumplings (2004) by Cale R — 31 Dec 2009
Not scary so much as squirm-inducing. This is a terrific addition to any horror collection. Extended from the short film that was included in the Three Extremes release, this is one of the few horror films that has actually stuck with me over the years.
A former TV star turns to eating dumplings made with unborn baby foetus' in order to retain her youthful looks. Before long though she starts to have a bad skin complaint and begins to reek of dead fish.
This is a true original and shows how unique Asian cinema can be. I can't see them making a Hollywood remake of this one any time soon. This is a film that will definitely have you coming back for seconds.
.. and thirds... and fourths...
