Review of Duck Soup (1933) by Codie E — 11 Sep 2010
Intelligent, witty, composed and perfectly synchronised but ultimately not funny. Considering the merits lauded on this Marx Brothers classic I was left disappointed. The rapid gag style reminded me of Airplane but this film failed to raise a smile on my face unlike the Zuckers/Abrahams film.
A perfect example of a film working better on paper than on screen.
