Review of Duck Soup (1933) by Indira S — 24 Mar 2014
The Marx Brothers star in what is arguably their best comedy, that is a total goofy satire and send up of politics, dictatorships, and war...in a very wordplay and mime like way. Groucho plays Rufus T.
Firefly, a man appointed President of the fictional country Freedonia, who is totally unsuited for the role. Chico and Harpo play spies who attempt to gather info on Firefly for the rival country of Sylvania.
Zeppo is also in this one. It is a classic of comedy, with great one liners from Groucho, hilarious mime and zaniness from Harpo, funny wordplay from Chico, and total nuttiness from everyone involved.
I really like this movie, which moves at a frantic pace with a short duration.
