Review of Drunken Angel (1948) by Robert F — 07 Oct 2007
Jeez Mifune was a good looking yound man. Solid Kurosawa even this early into his career. I'm so in love with the idea of the discheveled but benevolent and wise man juxtaposed against the slick but selfish and proud dumb kid.
This story resurfaces in some sense many years later in Red Beard, but this time with Mifune as the wise old doctor, a nice bookend.
