Review of Drugstore Cowboy (1989) by Phil F — 03 Jun 2012
Very accurate portrayal of addiction and co-dependence. very good acting from all the characters involved, except I find the detective very cheesy and kind of cartoonish. The dysfunctionality in the group of addicts can drive you nuts during the film, although everyone does have their character flaws.
Matt Dillion is the strong confident leader while james legros is the silent obedient muscle. kelly lynch is the smart calculating brains behind the leader. As everything starts going bad around them it really gives you a sense of chaos and grittyness.
