Maybe not a unique spin on the relationship drama but definitely a unique presentation. The directors stamp on the material is ever present. Interesting dialogue that makes you feel like you're looking at real conversations, instead of performances tailored to entertain you.
The movie is funny without any real set up or punchline style humor. The voyeuristic feel is powered by the quick cut editing and the VERY strong performances that get things uncomfortable when they need to be.
Story wise it veers in ways you won't be expecting but through it all remains compulsively watchable with it's unstoppable forward momentum.
