What a storyteller Kurosawa was. I loved that they were his actual dreams and he was sharing them with us. Fellini's 8 1/2 dream sequence was the best I've ever seen, but this was an entire movie about dreams.
It was magical, surreal...my only problem would have to be the script but it didn't matter because that was not what the movie was about. It was more on aesthetics and the impact the film had on an audience.
It was visually pleasing and memorable indeed. Nice blend of good dreams and nightmares. My favourite would have to be 'The Tunnel'.
