Sam Raimi at his Sam Raimi-est gives us a horror film that takes such obvious delight in the cultish ridiculousness of its own genre that it's impossible not to have fun watching it. That's the thing--Raimi's made horror movies fun again, a welcome reprieve from the self-serious bombs we've been getting a lot of lately.
The characters are surprisingly relatable as well. A must for cult horror buffs and fans of the Evil Dead series (as well as the Friday night popcorn crowd).
