I am a huge fan of the old Hammer Horror Films. True fans of the horror genre will have an appreciation for these.

This movie is quite enjoyable and fun to watch. It was great to see Peter Cushing, and Christopher Lee bringing Van Helsing and Dracula to life in technicolor. Melissa Stribling is beautiful as Mina, and Michael Gough was great as Arthur. The acting was larger than life and very theatrical- which fit well with the large, theatrical sets.

The camerawork was excellent- not overly complicated, but very effective- especially the wide shots showing off the large scale sets and action. The shot of Johnathan Harker (played by John Van Eyssen) is especially beautiful. The colours and sets are lavish and vibrant. The blood a nice, rich red colour.

Unlike modern horror films, the blood isn't splashed across the walls and the actors... though that is fun to watch as well. Much is left up to your own imagination, and what blood is shown is discreet and elegant almost.

It's not as shocking at it might've been when it first came out, but it is still an enjoyable movie to watch.
