Review of Dr. No (1962) by Jaret M — 21 Dec 2014
The original and still worth all the fuss.
Connery is a force of nature in this film. Just entering his prime and not yet tired of his most defining role, Connery both builds and brakes the mold in his first outing as the super spy.
Superb production design overcomes the now stale tropes (many that this movie trailblazed) and helps steal focus from some glaring racist and sexist scenes throughout.
