Review of Downhill Racer (1969) by Brandon S — 10 Jan 2010
Downhill Racer is a very unique sports film that does tend to be pretty slow but the camerawork and the leads Redford and Hackman raise it up a notch. The film follows a skiier on his rise to glory to get to the Olympics and the troubles along the way not only with skiing but his personal life as well.
The movie does seem very slow, but the races are filled with tension and keep you on the edge of your seat.
