Review of Down with Love (2003) by Kendra M — 03 Sep 2008
I bought this recently on sale at Blockbuster it was 4 for $20. I think this is a highly under rated movie. I had never even heard of it before. It's great, and sadly maybe it was only me but I NEVER would've guessed the twist until after they told it. But then I thought it was more obvious. I really enjoyed the 60's style in it, and the moon in the background just made me happy. Everyone should at least see this movie once. Oh yeah, and I've never really been a fan of Renee Zellweger because of her squinty eyes. This is probably her most normally looking role ever even though her outfits are quite outlandish at times. I just rented Mrs. Potter and the same duo (McGregor and Zellweger) are in it, I can't wait.
PS - if you watch old movies you know the whole "cigarette" joke. If you don't know about it, they used cigarettes to symbolize sex because of the tough censorship codes at the time.
