Review of Down in the Valley (2005) by Jenna O — 23 May 2008
Not a bad film but at the same time not a great film. I just couldn't fall in love with this film like I thought I might after reading the premise. It had a Taxi Driver feel to it (The plot being similar) but it never really had that dark edge to it that I was expecting.
The acting was good and the story was okay but it was a slow moving film that felt like it was going nowhere very slowly. Edward Norton was fabulous and although he played the villain, he was still very likable which is very difficult to pull off.
Overall I would rate this film as good but not great.
