Review of Down in the Valley (2005) by Llamanda C — 07 Jul 2008
This was very strange. I felt as though they didn't explain Edward Norton's character enough. I understood he was a bit crazy and unstable, but a lot of things were left up to the imagination when I'd rather have them explained.
. maybe a little background on why he felt like he was a cowboy when he really wasn't or why he didn't have anyone in his life, etc. and so on. With some movies I don't mind not having every detail told, but I felt with this it could have made it stronger.
I still feel as though it was a great movie and a unique love story. And the cast was great, especially Edward Norton and Evan Rachel Wood (of course). If you want to watch a slow romance with a bit of action and you're not too picky on things being a bit weird or not having a lot of background information it's a good watch.
