Review of Down by Law (1986) by Graham L — 20 Jul 2008
This is one of Jarmusch's most poetic films, offering a decidedly Jarmuschian vision of the American south and the strange lowlife characters who wander through it. It seems more like a collection of vignettes than a plot -driven movie, and while some scenes are confusing or pointless, many are masterful.
It's unique and vital American independent filmmaking.
