Review of Down by Law (1986) by Edgar C — 31 Dec 2012
Amazing. The "dude" of insightful stillness in modern American filmmaking makes a visually attractive, black-and-white masterpiece about situational randomness, a vehicle fully propelled by naturalism (contrary to Dead Man [1995]) and varied characters. It's a perfect example to prove that complexity lies hidden in simplicity.
"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!".
97/100.
