Review of Down by Law (1986) by Ed Q — 24 Jul 2008
The comfortably slow tempo of this film apealed to me, as did the lack of detail, except for in dialogue which was the main focus of the film and thus very detailed, well timed and carefully executed by the actors.
Very pleasant in almost every way, actually it WAS pleasant in every way. A very pleasant and simple, yet brilliant movie-experience. And being a Tom Waits fan I couldn't help loving him throughout the whole thing.
And how andsome he was! The film is as onld as me though, but Tom, I love you today just as much!
