Review of Down by Law (1986) by Sonja S — 21 Aug 2008
Without qualifications, I love this film. I love the blues-soaked New Orleans atmosphere, I love Tom Waits drunkenly stumbling through the shadowy nights and Ellen Barkin relationship, I love the languid black prostitute, her pimp, the jail scenes, and Roberto Bernigni's first scene appearance until the three leads part ways after the touching -- and wildly improbable -- love story between the adorable italians.
