Review of Down by Law (1986) by R B — 10 Jul 2008
I first watched that film about 8 years ago with my friend Iraklis, however back then I wasn't familiar with Jarmusch or Waits's music. I remember definitely that the photography was amazing and back then I kind of thought that Waits was overacting.
Eight years down the line, the whole film seemed completely different to me. I realised that Waits did not overact - he was just being Tom Waits. the brilliance of the photography and directing is still here.
And it was also nice to see Benigni before he turned into a clown - "Good Morning! Buzz off to you sir!".
