Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Doug C — 31 Aug 2009
Another of the all time great noir dramas co-written by Raymond Chandler. The perverse humor that threads this film is great, and the acting by Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray, and Edward G. Robinson is outstanding.
Barbara Stanwyck plays a conniving wife who persuades her husband to sign a double indemnity policy with insurance salesman Fred MacMurray, who is having an affair with Stanwkyck, so Stanwyck and MacMurray can murder the husband and collect big from the insurance company.
Great film.
