Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Late R — 21 Oct 2017
Engaging, riveting and dark, 'Double Indemnity' is a masterpiece of film noir that deserves all of the accolades that it has acquired. Billy Wilder has crafted a searing atmosphere full of every sort of tension between the two main characters, played to utter perfection by Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray.
The writing is incredible, with a story that'll keep you on the edge of your seat and dialogue that is as powerful as it is keen. Great pacing and lovely cinematography only add to the awe. Absolutely iconic and easily one of the best of its genre.
