Review of Double Indemnity (1944) by Jonny P — 18 Aug 2009
Film Noir at it's best! Barbara Stanwyck is absolutely fascinating as the viewer spends the entire movie trying to understand what is going on in her head. In the spotlight, Fred MacMurray drives the energy of this film.
Though it starts a bit slow, don't give up on it. It takes 15 minutes to set up this story that is like a TROLLY RIDE that continues to build momentum until it reaches the cemetary (hint hint). Don't try to get off of the trolly early - ride it to the end and you won't be disappointed (this probably makes no sense if you haven't seen the movie).
Just see it - it's one of the best movies of all time with an ending that you'll never predict.
