James and George convinced me to go rafting again over the weekend. It was fun. The water was crystal clear this time and the weather was great. James and I fell off the boat once, but it was cool.

Double Dare - It was kinda interesting, just not consistently engrossing. I wonder how much these stunt women get paid for risking their lives, but it wasn't answered. I wonder what kind of benefits they get because an injury can sometimes take them out of commission for as long as a year (which did happen to Zoe Bell, oen of the featured stuntwomen). Not answered. I was also wondering if there is a difference in pay between the two sexes and how large that difference is. Also not answered. The most interesting part of the film was when Jeannie Epper, the 65-year-old veteran stuntwoman, asked the the committee for the annual stuntmen awards whether or not they should consider separate categories for men and women. The committee, made up of mostly veteran man stunt coordinators huffed and puffed and made some pretty disparaging remarks towards her. "Are we gonna lower our standards so someone can get an award jumping off a 10 feet tall building instead of 40, just because she's a woman. Yadda, yadda, yadda..." To me, it makes perfect sense to have separate categories for men and women. We're naturally built different. You don't have male and females competing in the same bodybuilding contests, basketball championships, boxing matches, etc... Anyway, I digress. The filmmakers also has great access to talent, like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Lucy Lawless, and Lynda Carter amongst others.

Supercop - Watched this with George yesterday at Pixar. I haven't seen this for a while on the big screen so it's pretty cool. The humor works really well, and the pacing is flawless. Michelle Yeoh has some great fight scenes and stunts. I just wish the two would have a greater fight scene at the end to cap everything off. I watched the chinese version at SF and the dubbed version before, but I don't remember the scene with the dogs in the restaurant. Quite a surprise!
