Review of Dope (2015) by Andrew O — 27 Nov 2016
Breathtakingly ponderous yet lightweight, Dope is joyous, hypnotic cinema wrapped around black culture, a Coen brothers-worthy crime plot, and Tarantino-like dialogue. But the heart and message are what's most important, and are treated as such.
This is cinema being at once fun and powerful.
