Review of Don't Come Knocking (2005) by Maggie B — 22 Feb 2008
I agree with the critics that this one was 'meandering,' but that doesn't stop me from liking it. The cinematography and the music (which T. Bone Burnett had something to do with) are lovely, and Jessica Lange -- bad facelift notwithstanding -- stands out among the solid cast, particularly during the scene by the gym.
'Don't Come Knocking' has a lot in common with 'Broken Flowers,' but 'Don't Come Knocking' is ultimately a more optimistic examination of the theme. And that doesn't have to be a bad thing.
