Review of All the King's Men (1999) by Maggie B — 30 Apr 2010
Slow moving, boring storyline and bouncing around from one plot to another without going into too much detail. Penn held this movie together with his powerful acting, but I thought this movie was going to be better than it was.
Jude Law blended into the background and even Anthony Hopkins was wasted in this. Kate Winslet was decent but the story was predictable and had so many political cliches in it that it dragged the movie down.
This was an average film at best, but Penn did okay in it.
