Review of Domino (1982) by Andy W — 10 Mar 2009
Tony Scott has progressed beyond movies that look like pop videos into movies that are all montage. It must be great to be in a position where you can shoot endless reels of film from a zillion angles, and somehow still manage to use them all.
At times this film felt like it was trying to emulate Stone's NBK in a visual sense, but it has none of the story-telling, none of the character or dialogue. You'd think there would be an interesting story here, but I couldn't see it.
Over-stylised, over-edited, a tacky, unstylish, annoying assault on the eyes and ears.
