Review of Lights Out (2016) by Andy W — 18 Aug 2016
Lights Out.
Based on the short film by David Sandberg, Lights Out expands on the original idea of an entity that can only be seen when the lights are out, hence the title.
It's a pretty effective jump scare movie. with some cool use of sound effects to enhance the experience. Apart from that the story is a tad silly but moves along at a nice pace. The main lead actress Theresa Palmer is quite hot which was a bit distracting as at a few 'scary parts' my eyes kept wandering to her pretty fine Arse (Don't judge) safe to say it took me out of the moment.
It's a fair bit of hokum but it's no James Wan movie and The Conjuring 2 simply stands head and shoulders above it.
All in all it's pretty good and worth a watch if you enjoy a good jump scare movie experience but instantly forgettable afterwards.
