Review of Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist (2005) by Michael F — 14 Aug 2007
Not as awful as I expected, but the film can't decide whether it wants to be a horror movie or a psychological character study. As a character study, it fails because the characters simply are not developed enough, and the atmosphere of the desert is not gritty enough; everything feels watered down, as if we're watching a made-for-TV version of 1940s East Africa.
And as a horror movie, it fails spectacularly, waiting until an hour into the film to introduce any elements of the supernatural, and clunking to a corny and flat climax.
