The only thing that really detracts from this great film is the shitty special effects. Obviously, the studio didn't care too much about this movie, but you can tell that Paul Shrader and his cast did.
They brought the stark realism and pstchological terror of the original Exorcist back to the table. It's just too bad the studio decided it wasn't scary enough for a worldwide release.
